…how about “I REALLY IDENTIFY WITH AND LOVE THIS CHARACTER/THING”

or, if you want something that is shorter and more nerdy, how about “patronus”?

As in,

“ROBERT DOWNEY JR. IS MY PATRONUS”

“CAKE IS MY PATRONUS”

“PEOPLE WHO COME UP WITH NON-RACIST TERMS FOR THINGS I DIDN’T KNOW WERE RACIST ARE MY PATRONUS”

So valid.

THIS IS FOR YOU, pagan TAG.

RAGUGHGHG

How exactly is “spirit animal” racist?  Two modern English words.  Not totem, not nagual, not any of the words that native Americans or any other indigenous group would have used for the equivalent belief in their spiritual systems.  ”Spirit animal”.  I’m having a hard time seeing any justification for racial ownership of this English-language term.
